Air Quality Testing
Any resident impacted by flooding or any type of water damage should consider an air quality test because the air you breathe will have a direct impact on your health. Air quality testing is especially important if anyone in the living space suffers from asthma or, has any allergy or other respiratory issues. Poor air quality can cause sinus issues and allergic reactions.
Constant exposure to poor air quality has been linked to Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome, also known as Sick Building Syndrome, which the World Health Organization states is directly caused by water damage.
Consider an air quality test if you smell an earthy, musty, mildew and even urine like odour. This smell is an indicator that Microbial Volatile Organic Compounds (MVOCs) may be present. MVOCs are an indicator of active or past fungal (mold) growth.
